The World Social Forum is coming to Kenya and Africa for the first time since her inception about five years ago. Known as the largest gathering of the civil society advocating with and for the poor, the social forum will provide Africa with an opportunity to show case her struggles against global and domestic injustices such as the heavy debt burden, unjust international trade laws and biased donor-aid condionatlities which ensure that Africa forever remains an economic colony of the so called developed countries.

Reduced registration rates

The WSF will be more inclusive in 2007.
The International Council of the WSF has approved a proposal by the Ecumenical Platform, Kutoka Parish Network and the International Alliance of Inhabitants for the introduction of a reduced registration rate for participation in the WSF. African students and the unemployed will be able to benefit from a reduced registration rate of 50 Shillings (0.55 Euros) per day. There will also be a Solidarity Fund for those who are unable to afford even this reduced rate.
