En las colonias Tlatel Xochitenco, secciones 1 y 2, se escuchó un estruendo; después se cimbró el suelo, las casas se movieron lateralmente y se levantaron el pavimento, las guarniciones y las banquetas. También se formaron cuatro enormes grietas de más de un metro de ancho y tres de profundidad.
Todavia se esta verificandono si la causa fue una explosión de gas metano acumulado en el tiradero municipal de Tlatel Xochitenco o un desplazamiento de tierra.

Se comprimió la tierra y levantó banquetas, guarniciones y pavimentos en 16 calles. También hay daños en cisternas, muros, puertas y zaguanes. Más de 400 viviendas fueron dañadas y al menos 15 casas sufrieron daños estructurales que las dejaron inhabitables, por lo tanto estas familias serán desalojadas.

El 15 de junio de 2010, aproximadamente a las 15 horas, en las colonias Tlatel Xochitenco, secciones 1 y 2, se escuchó un estruendo; después se cimbró el suelo, las casas se movieron lateralmente y se levantaron el pavimento, las guarniciones y las banquetas. También se formaron cuatro enormes grietas de más de un metro de ancho y tres de profundidad. Esto provocó daños a más de 400 viviendas en 16 calles y 15 viviendas presentan graves daños estructurales, por lo que ya no son habitables.
